I am a stay at home mom and I am new to the scene. I just started a stay at home job and let me tell you, it's tough. Its interesting. Stay at home jobs out there are slim or more like trying to find a needle in a hay stack, if you want to find something worth investing in. It can be difficult but they take work. They don't tell you about the leg work (or the lack there of) that you have to do to get you business going and how many hours it takes. It kinda seems like there are people who are born to think outside of the box when it comes to the internet, don't you think? I mean, I thought I was good with computers but now a days, there are just so many uses for it that it can be dizzying. Especially for someone like me who uses it for pratical uses.
Don't get me wrong! I'm not saying that its impossible to understand but understand this, there's a whole different world out there and the first thing you do in a foreign land is to learn the native tongue or at least enough to get you around until you get better at. I find that there are other ways of learning how to use the internet without it seeming so impossible that its not fun anymore and that is by following these steps: (that I learn the hard way)
Step One: If you have kids in school and the use the net, have them give you the basic skills and then let them show you around the net (internet). Its a great way to spend time with them and its a fun experience for you and your little one. If you don't have little ones then try your friends, make a game out it.
Step Two: You could go online yourself and use the help button to give you the tutorials of how to use the internet and how to get from point a to point b.
Step Three: You could go out and buy a book. I would go with the Dummies books because they always have a step by step approach that make it easy for the simple man or woman to understand.
Step Four: Just take a chance and go explore! That's how most people learn. Just start typing and you realize in about a day or less that you got the hang of getting around the cyberspace. But beware the internet, its also a place where if you do not know where you are going or doing, you could seriously crash your hard drive.
Step Five: Getting the lingo down. You know those abbreviations that you hear like, bff, lol, omg, etc... try not to freak out but its not that bad or hard to learn. If you ask, they'll tell you the meaning of them or you could always look it up in a book but not in a dictionary. Your better off just asking somebody.
Anyway, thats what I been dealing with at least. Maybe, it might help someone or you could always just point and laugh cause this is my second blog and may I add, will improve with time. Hehee... ok, it will!!! Just be careful and be safe. Have fun but keep in mind that just like anything, it takes practice.
